Please join us at Centennial Park at 6:00 p.m. for a Picnic Potluck Plus PanAm Track Cycling Championship Ponderings with Team USA’s Paragon Ashton Lambie! (Too much with the alliteration?)
Ashton will talk about his journey over the past year from the grass velodrome track west of Lawrence, to Trexlertown, PA with its world-famous velodrome, to San Diego’s track nationals, and finally to the Elite Pan American Track Championships in Couva, Trinidad & Tobago. There, he rode for Team USA and took 5th place in the men’s individual pursuit! He will also explain the finer points of track racing, and what “individual pursuit” and other terms mean.
If you are able, please bring one or more potluck dishes. (Pressed for time? We won’t judge if Checkers, Dillons, Hy-Vee or Colonel Sanders does the cooking for you!) We need main dishes, sides, and desserts. Drinks provided.
There will be no Sacred Music Academy for the 3rd-8th graders this evening, and no youth Bible study at the church (although it’s still TBD as to whether they’ll meet for Bible study at the park).
See you there!
