Earthworks Team Blue Pi Day Run

March 12 @ 7:30 am 5:00 pm CST

Ready for Some Pi?

The Earthworks Blue Team wants to invite you to celebrate Pi Day with us this year! Join us for a trail race on Pi Day (named for the mathematical constant ratio that begins 3.14 and is celebrated on March 14…get it?) On Saturday, March 12 (which we know, isn’t actually Pi Day, but it is the closest Saturday), we plan to register for and run the Lawrence Trail Hawks annual trail race. For seasoned runners or first timers, this is a great way to join some fellow Baptists and enjoy the beauty of the River Trails in North Lawrence. Plus, at the end, there’s pie! (of course) Some details (note that the time range shown above is an estimate—check out the registration website for exact race times):

  • There are multiple distances to run. The shortest is a 3.14 mile race that begins at 7:30am. The half marathon (actually 13.14 mi, because, well, you get it by now) begins at 9am. There are longer distances, too, for those trained and ready!
  • Meanwhile, we are going to be doing some training runs to get ready, and you are invited to join us (even if you aren’t doing the race). Join for Thursday Three-Milers and/or Saturday Six-Milers. We usually run pretty early in the morning, but be sure to contact Bryan Miller or Steve Yoder, or the FBC office, for the latest plans/updates. Get in touch with them, as well, if you have any questions about the Pi Day race, or trail running, or the Blue Team of Earthworks! See you on the trails!
