Follow Elm to 8th street. Turn right (south) onto 8th\, and cross up and over the levee. There is a parking lot between the levee and the Kansas River.

SUMMARY:Harvesters Mobile Food Pantry
DESCRIPTION:The Harvesters Mobile Food Pantry comes to FBC on the 4th Saturday of each month\, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.  (EXCEPTION: there may be alternate distribution dates during the months of November and December when the 4th Saturday falls on Thanksgiving weekend and Christmas weekend. In 2024\, we’re having distributions in both months—on 11/23 and 12/28/24!)  \n\n\n\nThe mobile food pantry is a drive-through distribution in the FBC parking lot. \n\n\n\n\nDistribution will be limited to no more than 3 households per vehicle. \n\n\n\nGuests\, please clear as much space as possible in your trunk or cargo area. We would like to avoid loading inside the seats of the vehicles to better social distance. To the extent possible\, limit the number of passengers with you. (We do understand some families must bring their children along.) \n\n\n\nBlessings to you all from FBC and our mobile food pantry partners.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCatholic Charities of Northeast Kansas\, Trinity Interfaith Food Pantry\, Pelathe District Boy Scouts\, and First Baptist Church are partners in carrying out this distribution. \n\n\n\nYou can learn more about Harvesters on their website here. Want to get a little more active and would like some company? Do we have an offer for you! The Earthworks Blue Team is inviting trail runners with some\, little\, or NO experience to join us! \n\n\n\nThe Blue Team trail runners can help with any questions on gear\, training or “working up to it” plans (including a “couch to 5K” option)\, sports nutrition\, etc. A “3-mile Thursday” run is kind of a standard one for the group\, but we can be flexible on times\, distances\, and pace. \n\n\n\nIf you are interested\, or just want to find out more\, please contact Bryan Miller or Susan Pauls for more details via the FBC office. \n\n\n\nLawrence River Trails location: \n\n\n\nThe park entrance and parking lot is just off 8th & Oak streets in North Lawrence. Check Google Maps for interactive driving directions. \n\n\n\nDirections: Going north on Massachusetts street from downtown\, take the first right (east) immediately after the bridge onto Elm street. Follow Elm to 8th street. Turn right (south) onto 8th\, and cross up and over the levee. There is a parking lot between the levee and the Kansas River.

The last fifteen minutes is spent reading and discussing the scripture for the next Sunday’s sermon. Often\, he uses Lectio Divina reading and questioning methods to facilitate this discussion.
