An American Baptist Congregation
The March selection is Housekeeping by Marilynn Robinson. This book is the 2014 Read Across Lawrence selection. Housekeeping is the story of two sisters raised in isolated Fingerbone, Idaho. The family is plagued by loss, and the sisters are raised by a series of family members culminating in their last hope, their aunt, a boxcar drifter. A limited number of free copies of the book can be obtained at the reference desk at the Lawrence Public Library. There are also about 25 copies at the library for checkout. On March 6, the author, Marilynn Robinson will be speaking at Plymouth Congregational Church, 725 Vermont Street at 7:00 pm. Our March meeting will be on March 10 at 7:00 pm at the church in the library.
