An American Baptist Congregation
The October selection is Poem on the Range by Caryn Miriam Goldberg. This book is based on the time that the author spent as the Kansas Poet Laureate. It includes some of her poems and musings of the various parts of the state that she visited. Unfortunately it is not available at the Lawrence library but copies are available at the Raven Bookstore and on-line for around $10.00. The meeting will be held on Oct. 13 at 7:00 pm at Bill & Margaret’s home.
The November selection is Pastrix by Nadia Bolz Weber. Nadia Bolz Weber is the pastor of Denver’s House from All Sinners and Saints. This is a memoir of her path to becoming a pastor. The meeting will be on Nov. 3 at 7:00 pm at Bob and Sandy’s house.
We will not be meeting in December because of holiday conflicts.
The First Baptist Book club reads a wide variety of works including fiction, non-fiction, biographies, memoirs, and poetry. Members suggest the books to be read. If you love books, please join us!
