Emunah is a Hebrew word that is usually translated into English as “faith.” It implies an active trust, a dynamic and relational experience tied to our behavior, not just to our words or theological concepts to which we ascribe. In Scripture, those who have faith are those who act. It is this truth that we will explore for the rest of the church calendar year. The series was kicked off on September 7 by our summer mission team, sharing about their experiences in Nicaragua with AMOS. Their stories demonstrate what faith in action looked like to them on the trip, and imagine how it might look to us as a church. From there, we’ll launch into several weeks of stories from Scripture about those who demonstrated emunah…a faith in action. Together, we pray that these stories, along with the Spirit speaking into this season of our Church’s mission, will inspire us to understand more fully what it might look like for us to be a people of faith…in action.
