Children’s Sunday School
9:30-10:30am

Toddler/PreK Class: Our youngest class meets weekly for playtime, singing, and a Bible story. Curriculum: Frolic.
Primary Class: The K, 1, & 2 class meets weekly to hear a Bible story and do related fun activities. Curriculum: Smyth & Helwys Faith Steps.
Intermediate Class: Our 3rd–6th grade class meets every Sunday with a Bible story, discussion, & craft. Curriculum: Smyth & Helwys Faith Steps.

Nursery Care
Our nursery is available for families to use, but it is currently unstaffed because our families have decided they like keeping their little ones in the church service. We have background checked volunteers available as needed, though. Contact Pastor Cristina if you would like the nursery open one Sunday. Learn more about other spaces for our littlest ones here.
Explorations
10:30-10:50am
Following Sunday School, kids are brought to the Children’s Church room for a time of movement (playing outside, playing indoor games, singing and dancing, etc.) and a snack. This time allows kids to get the wiggles out and have a snack before “big church,” while their grown-ups are able to enjoy the fellowship time in the narthex.

During the 11 am service
In Worship
We welcome families and children into our sanctuary with their giggles, whispers, and wiggles. It can be intimating to bring kids into a worship service, wondering if they can stay still, quiet, or pay attention for an hour, but we have several options to help families and children feel welcome in the service and in the sanctuary. When entering the sanctuary, there is a Kid’s Activity Table, where families can grab clipboards, coloring pages, coloring supplies, and/or doodle boards to take with them to their seats (please return the supplies at the end of the service). We also have a Children’s Corner for families to be in the sanctuary with rugs and toys for kids to play with during the service. During the service, children are invited to come forward for a Children’s Sermon, where one of the pastors talks with the kids about one of the themes of the day.
The Children’s Corner

The Children’s Corner is a quiet play space for families with kids who struggle to sit through and participate in the full worship service. We ask that parents remain with their kids in the corner to supervise them and remind them to play quietly with minimal talking, as voices from the corner travel throughout the sanctuary. Parents are encouraged to participate in the full service (sitting, standing, singing) to model those practices for their kids. Then, as kids get older they become ready to join the congregation for those practices as well.
For younger children who need more space to move around or make noise, some families prefer to sit in the Judson room (the windowed room off the sanctuary) or can use our nursery.
Enjoy the space and don’t worry about the occasional noises that come with quiet play, as they remind us that kids are a welcome and active part of our church family.
Children’s Church
During the 11:00am service, children will be dismissed for Children’s Church about halfway through the service as the Doxology is sung. At Children’s Church, kids typically have a lesson based off of the sermon text, but at a level that is geared just for them. Following the story they share a prayer time together, and then have a time for work and play. It is up to parents and kids as to when they stop going to Children’s Church (towards upper elementary school, many kids start to prefer to stay in the service instead of coming to Children’s Church). At the end of the service, parents will come and pick up their kids from the Children’s Church room. [Note: for a time, we had no Children’s Church on the first Sunday of the month, Communion Sunday. But as of fall 2025 and going forward, we will have Children’s Church on the first Sunday of the month as well.]
