Poet Wendell Berry writes…
“When I despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things…”
Perhaps we know the despair of which Berry writes…and perhaps we know the experience of responding in peace, resting in awe of God’s creation. This month, we will allow for both spaces in our lives, awake to both the beauty and the destruction present in our natural world. As we celebrate this theme with congregations around the world, you are invited to join us for a Season of Creation:
August 4: Created to Care (Gen 1 and 2)

August 25: Environmental Destruction and Renewal (Leviticus 26 and Ezekiel 47)
